Introduced to the problem

I was urged by my heart to write about ocean plastic pollution that i witnessed upon my trip to the Philippines. My realisation of the impact of mass plastic waste that we humans make every day and indirectly dump into our oceans was visually straining from afar. I kept seeing how polluted the beach was and couldn't help but think that we are the main cause of all this waste. Upon my realisation of the strains that we have on the environment and marine life I was influenced to write about the very issue to convey the significance and threat of plastic waste to those as blinded as I was, in the comfort of western society.
