Plankton are microorganisms which are at the bottom of the food chain in ocean marine life. They are essentially the building blocks of all life forms in marine life. Plastic pollution has affected the number of plankton as they are perceived as a source of life. Zooplankton have been found to consume plastic - essentially threatening all marine life as they are struggling for survival.

My biggest wish was for this world and humanity to be in peace with nature. The first step would be to work on decreasing our carbon footprint and recycling. Saving our oceans will be a part of the process to save the entire world from climate change.

Significant effects

The effects of plastic has drastic impact on wildlife, specifically placton which is essential for the marine life ecosystems. This has several implications on marine life itself and our very own ecosystem which will be discussed and reviewed in more depth

Brief mention of how to help

I was always infatuated by the sea and the vastness of the ocean. That vastness is being tarnished by all the trash that humans dump. Here are some ways you can decrease the amount of trash in the oceans.
Recycling, as well as actually knowing where your city disposes waste. Some industry heavy cities also have large factories that dump their waste into rivers and lakes which pollutes the entire are and not just the oceans. Seeing those types of actions deserves attention from local authorities. You can help with small things, like going to your local beach and volloneering to help clean the local area.

A great factor which plays into ocean plastic pollution is plastic waste and ill sufficient ways in which plastic is disposed of in which the ways that you can help with recycling. Furthermore the effects of plastic pollution is extensive in which it effects the oceans ecosystem and wildlife significantly and birds which directly affects us in many ways.

Motivation and Introduction

Image result for trash in the oceanI have always known that oceans are a very important part of nature and the cycle of life. I was aware that humans pollute, but i had never known how bad the pollution actually is until I saw it with my own eyes. My name is Jovan and I, like many of you live in a comfortable environment of the western world. I was never so shocked in my life, as I was when I witnessed people actually just looking at the trashed beach and only expressing disgust. None of them asked why its like this, they just wanted to forget the whole ordeal. I didn't forget... here I am now, with you, my fellow reader, as I tell you my experience. I have researched into the topic and have taken measures with myself and my friends and family to keep our negative impact on marine life and the ocean as small as possible.

I will dedicate this blog to help spread awareness and will actively campaign in my mission, to clean the trash from our oceans.

Introduced to the problem

I was urged by my heart to write about ocean plastic pollution that i witnessed upon my trip to the Philippines. My realisation of the impact of mass plastic waste that we humans make every day and indirectly dump into our oceans was visually straining from afar. I kept seeing how polluted the beach was and couldn't help but think that we are the main cause of all this waste. Upon my realisation of the strains that we have on the environment and marine life I was influenced to write about the very issue to convey the significance and threat of plastic waste to those as blinded as I was, in the comfort of western society.
